OUTSTANDING NNP OPPORTUNITY - SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA -
Internationally
recognized university teaching hospital in Southern California needs two
experienced
Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. Very high acuity 70+ bed subspecialty care
NICU with
200 FTE Nursing and Support staff and 10 neonatology attendings.
As one of six NNPs, you will provide a very important clinical team
leadership role
at a responsibility level considered analogous to that of a neonatology
fellow.
While neonatology attending support is always available, NNP's are involved
in
many clinical decisions at a senior level in this prominent neonatal center.
NICU admissions (about 100 per month) involve the full spectrum of high-risk
neonatal care. Patients include ECMO referrals, surgical referrals
(pediatric
surgery, pediatric neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery are all
available),
and other patients requiring subspecialty consultation. A separate neonatal
transport team manages approximately 50 patient transports per month.
To qualify, you must be Masters' prepared, NCC certified and have at least
two years solid tertiary care NNP experience. In addition, you must be
comfortable
and proficient in the ability to supervise, teach and evaluate the
performance of
housestaff. This is a highly demanding role requiring the utmost in
clinical and
professional preparation. The rewards are enormous. You will function at
